T&T: Court blocks PM from laying executive summary of Firearm Audit Report

Trinidad's Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley, as head of the National Security Council (NSC), has been temporarily barred by the High Court from laying an executive summary of the Firearm Audit Report in Parliament.

The report details the activity which took place in the Firearms Unit of the T&T Police Service under the tenure of former commissioner of police Gary Griffith, where 140,000 Firearm Users Licenses were granted.

Mr Griffith later filed a High Court injunction, questioning the validity of the report in his response to the Prime Minister.

The restriction may remain in place until March, when the court is expected to deliver its final ruling in a judicial review claim.
