Captain Hayley Matthews turned in an excellent all-round performance with the bat and ball to lead the West Indies women to an impressive 9-wicket win in the second T20 international over India's women to level their three match series at 1-1.
Chasing 160 runs to win, Matthews top scored with 85 runs off 47 deliveries, as the Caribbean side reached the target with 4 overs and 2 balls to spare.
The skipper hammered 17 fours in her chance-less innings. Fellow opener Qiana Joseph was dismissed for 38 off 22 balls, after putting on 66 with Matthews. Shemaine Campbell batting at number 3, contributed 29 off 26.
Earlier, India's women's piled up a competitive 159-9 off their 20 overs, thanks to captain Smriti Mandhana who top scored with 62.
There were two wickets each for skipper Matthews, Chinelle Henry, Deandra Dottin and Afy Fletcher. The third and final match in the series is scheduled for Thursday morning at 8:30 Jamaica time.
