TVJ free to rebroadcast investigative programme on Holness' house after court lifts injunction

TVJ's attorney Michael Hylton, speaking with RJR News

Supreme Court judge Chester Stamp on Wednesday ordered the lifting of an injunction, barring TVJ from re-broadcasting a particular edition of the investigative programme, 18 Degrees North, which is produced by Global Reporters for the Caribbean, regarding the construction of a house by Prime Minister Andrew Holness, among other issues.

Mr. Holness filed a lawsuit in June, claiming the feature was defamatory.

TVJ was scheduled to re-air the feature, but was blocked by the injunction.

TVJ's attorney Michael Hylton said the station is now free to re-air the programme.

RJR News tried unsuccessfully to contact Mr Holness' attorney, Gordon Robinson.
