Two cops charged in East Kingston triple killing set for court Tuesday

By Clinton McGregor

The two policemen charged in connection with the controversial killing of three males along Windward Road in East Kingston, over a week ago, are scheduled to appear before the Gun Court on Tuesday.

The policemen were charged on the weekend following a ruling by the Director of Public Prosecutions.

Corporal Mark Roye and Constable Kelby White have been charged with three counts of murder, using a firearm in the commission of a felony and discharging a firearm within 40 yards of a public thoroughfare.

They are also charged with placing an item on the scene of a crime and willfully lying to the Commissioner of Police.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) launched an investigation after questions were raised about the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Oshane Stubbs, 19-year-old Orando Campbell and 20-year-old Kayshawn Smith on November 10 on Windward Road, East Kingston.

The cops say two illegal guns were seized, reportedly in a confrontation with the men, about 2 o'clock in the morning.
