Two unidentified men died in a crash on the Dawkins Pen main road in Clarendon on Sunday night.

According to the police, about 8:20 p.m., the driver of a Toyota Mark X motorcar failed to keep left and collided with a Toyota Probox approximately 200 metres north of the junction with Salt River main road.

Both drivers were pronounced dead upon arrival at hospital.

A passenger of the Mark X was admitted in critical condition.

The crash occurred 12 hours before another fatal crash in Clarendon on Monday morning which claimed the lives of two students of Lennon High School.

Mayor of May Pen, Joel Williams, who was at Monday morning's crash scene on the Bustamante Bypass, appealed for motorists to reduce their speed.

"I want to use this opportunity to ask those drivers on the road, going down into Christmas, to take your time to utilise the road properly. And let us finish the year and with less incident than we had last year, and save some more lives," he pleaded.
