UK-based bartender held with drugs at airport pleads guilty to charges

A 33-year-old London-based bartender who was arrested on May 10 following the discovery of cocaine and ganja in her luggage, on Tuesday pleaded guilty when she appeared in the St. James Parish Court.
 
Shay Daniel-Jabbi was sentenced to 18 months in prison and was fined $3 million in relation to the charges of possession of and attempting to export cocaine.
 
If the fine is not paid, she will have to serve an additional two years behind bars.
 
Daniel Jabbi was also fined $1,000 or 30 days for ganja possession.
 
It was reported that about 1:20 p.m. on May 10, Daniel Jabbi checked in at Sangster International Airport to board a flight to Birmingham, England.
 
During a search of her luggage, eight rectangular packages containing cocaine weighing 9.32 kilogrammes and a small package containing approximately five ounces of ganja were found.
 
Daniel Jabbi was taken into custody and later charged.
