UWI student charged in torture case remanded until March 21

Matthew Hyde, the University of the West Indies, Mona student accused of the alleged abduction and torture of a female student, was further remanded until March 21.
 
When the matter was called up Friday morning in the Kingston and St. Andrew Parish Court, Hyde's attorney Peter Champagnie KC said he will be making a bail application during the next hearing.
 
The court was also told that a private psychiatric evaluation is to be provided on the next date.
 
Hyde is charged with assault occasioning grievous bodily harm, use of malicious communication, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and false imprisonment.
