Radio Jamaica News has been informed that a policeman from the Westmoreland Police Division was on Wednesday morning arrested and is facing corruption charges.
The police corporal was captured during a sting operation conducted by members of the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau.
The corporal was allegedly soliciting $2 million to return a firearm to members of a criminal network.
The firearm was seized on Tuesday.
The Police High Command has not released the details on the incident.
