Investigators are probing a suspected revenge killing in York Bush, Anchovy, St. James, after gunmen invaded a house Wednesday morning, leaving one woman dead and another seriously injured.
The deceased has been identified as 53-year-old Melva Cross.
Ms Cross is the mother of Anthony Angus, who, before his capture in October, was listed as St. James' most wanted fugitive.
The second victim, who is reportedly in critical condition in hospital, is said to be Angus' girlfriend.
A senior investigator told Radio Jamaica News that about 10 o'clock Wednesday morning, armed thugs invaded the house with the women and shot them.
Angus, who was captured in St. Elizabeth during a manhunt, has been charged for the killing of two well-known figures in the York Bush community.
Gilbert Jackson, a 56-year-old carpenter, and 64-year-old businessman Henry Salman were killed when Augus allegedly opened fire on a truck transporting the two.
They were reportedly killed after refusing to give him money.
