World leaders in solidarity with ICC's arrest warrant for Putin

World leaders are in solidarity with the International Criminal Court's issuing of an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin.

In a tweet, Canada's Foreign Minister Melanie Joly reacted to the warrant, saying her country stands firmly with the people of Ukraine.

In a similar tweet, the French foreign ministry said "no one should escape justice".

The International Criminal Court has accused Mr. Putin of being responsible for war crimes in Ukraine, including the unlawful deportation of children.

A warrant has also been issued for Russia's commissioner for children's rights.

But Russia's foreign ministry spokeswoman has said the Court's decisions has no meaning for her country, including from a legal standpoint.
