Injured Reggae Boy Antonio could recover in time for upcoming tournaments

Although question marks remain over the fitness of experienced striker Michail Antonio, Reggae Boyz head coach Steve McClaren says the West Ham United player could be available for upcoming tournaments including the Unity Cup and the CONCACAF Gold Cup. 

Antonio who continues to recover from a horrific car accident in December 2024, has been surprisingly named in the Reggae Boyz 60-man provisional squad for the CONCACAF Gold Cup.

Speaking at a CONCACAF Gold Cup media day event with on Tuesday, McClaren revealed that the 35 year old Antonio has signalled he will be ready for the upcoming tournaments.

Meanwhile, seven new overseas-based players have been named in the 60-man squad for the upcoming CONCACAF Gold Cup including former Chelsea player Lewis Baker who is now at Stoke City in the English Championship.
