Passenger shot on board Barbados' "Jolly Roger"

The owners of the Jolly Roger pleasure boat in Barbados have reportedly decided to install metal detectors after a shooting occurred on-board the craft on Wednesday night. A man was shot in the stomach while on the boat.

Martin Bynoe, spokesman for the operators told the Barbados Nation's NATION ONLINE that a man was shot before the boat docked. Staff called the Coast Guard and Police and the injured man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH).

A man is in custody, arising from the incident.

A woman who was on-board also had a seizure, reportedly as a result of the shooting incident.

Bynoe said the detectors will be installed at a position through which all going on board will have to walk.

The Jolly Roger excursions are among the most popular visitor experiences in Barbados.
