Suriname confident in reaching debt rescheduling agreement with Cuba

The Suriname government says it remains confident of reaching an agreement with China to reschedule its US$537 million debt.

It was announced last week that the country had reached an agreement with India to reschedule its US$39 million debt.

Finance and Planning Minister Stanley Raghoebarsing is expecting the International Monetary Fund executive board to make a decision next week on the progress of the staff-level agreement with Suriname.
