Inclement weather halts World U20 Champs

Inclement weather has put a pause on proceedings at the ongoing World Athletics Under 20 Championship in Cali, Colombia.

Reigning World U20 100 metre champion Tina Clayton says as long as she executes well she should retain her title.

Clayton easily made progress to the semifinals after winning her heat in 11.38 seconds and will be joined by her Edwin Allen teammate Serena Cole who clocked 11.39 seconds to win her heat.

The semifinals and the finals are scheduled for later this evening.

Demario Prince will contest Wednesday's final of the men's 110 meter hurdles after securing his spot by finishing second in his semifinal heat in a personal best 13.58 seconds.

Meanwhile, Oneika McAnnuff finished 6th in the final of the women's 400m hurdles in 59.74.
