Jamaica Table Tennis Association (JTTA) president Andrew Lue has assured that all is in place for Jamaica's team to travel to the Caribbean Junior Championships in Guyana on Saturday. This, despite reports of disquiet amongst parents.
Reports emerged on Friday that parents were disgruntled at having been asked to fork out US $480 or over JA$70,000 for accommodation for the championship.
There were reports that the JTTA received funding from the Sports Development Foundation (SDF) as well as the Ministry of Sports to cover the cost for the trip.
However, JTTA president Andrew Lue while confirming the receipt of financial support from the government, told Radio Jamaica Sports that more funds were needed.
The 15 players depart the island on Saturday for the tournament in Guyana with coaches Sandra Reittie, Dale Parham and Collin McNeish with Collette Palmer to be the team manager.
