After five years of FIFA watching over their shoulders the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) has finally been freed of the world governing body's financial restrictions.
At a virtual press briefing on Wednesday, JFF president Michael Ricketts made the announcement. FIFA head of member associations finance services Christoph Suppiger says they are pleased with the improvements made by the JFF over the last five years.
Meanwhile, JFF general secretary Dennis Chung says the lifting of financial restriction will allow the local governing body to focus more on development programs. The JFF currently receives US $1 million annually, along with monies for additional project from FIFA.
