Jamaica's Reggae Boys played out a 1-1 all draw with St Vincent and the Grenadines on Friday, in the first leg of the CONCACAF Gold Cup qualifiers at the Arnos Vale Stadium.
It took a Leon Bailey penalty in time added on for the Jamaican's to avoid a first defeat against their Caribbean counterparts in almost 20 years.
St Vincent and the Grenadines took a shock lead in the 65th minute, when captain Oalex Anderson captitalized on a lapse in the Jamaican defence to slot home past goalkeeper Andre Blake.
Head coach Steve McClaren then rang the changes, as he brought on Renaldo Cephas, Kaheim Dixon and Warner Brown to added some impetus to the attack.
It was from one of those attacks that Brown was brought down in the box, resulting in the Jamaicans being awarded a penalty.
Bailey calmly slotted home the spot kick to spare the Reggae Boyz blushes. The return leg will be played on Tuesday at Sabina Park.
