Caribbean Premier League (CPL) Operations Director Michael Hall says young players will be given more opportunities in this year's tournament, primarily through CPL's partnership with Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Breakout League.

The West Indies Breakout League is a T20 tournament designed to highlight emerging talent from across the Caribbean.

Each of the six CPL franchises will be allowed to choose three players from the Breakout League to be a part of their squad.

Provisions have also been made for the Breakout League players to get additional game time in the a CPL, as at least one of those players from each CPL team must play in every regular season game for the franchise.
