King and Charles lead Windies to series win over UAE

Brandon King and Man-of-the Match Johnson Charles top scored with half centuries to lead West Indies to a 78 run win over the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to take an unbeatable 2-0 lead in their three match ODI series on Tuesday at Sharjah.

Electing to bat, the Caribbean men amassed 306 runs, thanks to king who hammered 4 fours and 4 sixes on his way to 64 off 70 balls, while Charles blasted 8 fours and three sixes off 47 balls for his 63.

Another Jamaican, Odean Smith chipped in 37, while Keacy Carty made 32. Zahoor Khan took 3-44 for the UAE. 

Chasing 307 to win and level the series at 1-1, the UAE  could only manage 228-7 off their allotted 50 overs.
Kavem Hodge with 2-46 and Roston Chase 2-49, were the pick of the Caribbean bowlers, while Ali Naseer top scored with 57.

The third and final match is scheduled for Friday at the same venue.
