More overseas athletes to arrive

  A majority of the overseas athletes competing in the Jamaica International Invitational meet set for Saturday at the National Stadium are due in the island Thursday evening.

World double sprint champion Tyson Gay along with fellow Americans

Wallace Spearmon, Kerron Clement, Sanya Richards and Marshavet Hooker are slated to arrive.

American sprint hurdler Anton hicks and Jamaican sprinter Ysann Williams were the first two overseas based athletes who arrive Wednesday night.

Hicks, the winner at the Melrose will contest the men's 110 meter hurdles alongside defending champion and fellow American Aries Merritt as well as Jamaicans Maurice Wignall, Decosmo Wright, Maurice Smith and Claston Bernard.            

Williams is down to compete in the women's 100 meters along with fellow Jamaicans Kerron Stewart, Schillione Calvert as well as Americans Sherry Fletcher, and Stephanie Durst.
