Olympian Mair to join coaching staff for St Jago boys track team

Veteran sprint coach and Olympian John Mair has joined the coaching staff of the St Jago High School's boys team for the upcoming season.

The 1987 World Championship sprint relay bronze medallist will be working alongside fellow Olympian and 1983 world champion Bert Cameron and head coach Marlon Gayle at the Monk Street-based school in Spanish Town.

Mair who holds a Level 3 coaching certificate from World Athletics, confirmed the development when contacted by Radio Jamaica Sports.

The 58-year-old Mair had previous coaching stints at the Hydel group of schools between 2018 and 2021, Vere Technical from 2012 to 2018 and before that at his alma mater Jamaica College for 23 years ending in 2010.
