Sweatman and Asher head Reggae Girlz squad for Gold Cup qualifiers

Three players from Jamaica's women's Pan American Games squad have been called up to the Reggae Girlz squad to face Panama in their CONCACAF W Gold Cup qualifiers against Panama and Guatemala.

Destiny Powell, Chris-Ann Chambers and Shaniel Buckley will now leave the Pan Am Games squad which is currently in Santiago, Chile and join up with the squad in Panama City on Monday.

Chinyelu Asher and Marlo Sweatman, who were part of the squad at the 2019 World Cup in France are the players with senior experience who have been called to the 23 player squad.

Defender Malikae Dayes who featured for Jamaica last year but missed out on a World Cup call up along her twin sister Mikayla have also been included.

Shanhaine Nelson from Cavalier and Tyeisha Nelson from Reinas Academy are the only other locally-based players in the squad outside of Fraszeir Whip's Shaniel Buckley. 12 university players are named in the squad.
