The excellent form of 3-time Jamaican champion jockey Anthony Thomas at Gulfstream Park in Florida continued after he came up victorious aboard the 8-5 favourite Antillean in the second event on Wednesday’s 9-race programme.
Thomas brought his mount from the back of the pack in the maiden claiming contest for 4 year olds and up in the $22,000 contest over a mile to snatch victory at the wire.
It was Thomas' third win of the year and 10th overall since he started riding at Gulfstream Park 5 months ago.
Antillean was saddled by former national, Calabar High, Boys' Town and Hazard United which later became Portmore United footballer turned trainer Leon Minott.
