A miscalculation at the end might have cost the West Indies women a place at the ICC World Cup in India, despite their record breaking performance against Thailand on Saturday.

Set 167 to win, the Caribbean women needed to reach their target within 10 overs. However, despite the highest ever power play score in 50 over history, the Windies came up short as they were 156-3 at that stage.

The Caribbean women eventually got to victory at 168-4 in 10.5 overs the fastest run chase in the history of the game.

Captain Hayley Matthews led the way with 70 from 29 deliveries, while Jamaican Chinelle Henry made 48 from 17.

Earlier, Thailand who were sent to bat, were bowled out for 166.
Natthakan Chantham led the way with 66, while Nattaya Boochatham was next best with 29 against Afy Fletcher who bagged 4-20 and Aaliyah Alleyne 3-41.

The win by the West Indies saw them ending on 6 points in third, the same as Bangladesh. The top two teams from this qualifying tournament, Pakistan and Bangladesh have booked their tickets to the ICC Women's World Cup in India from September 29 to October 26.
