Windies dominate Bangladesh on opening day of first test

Led by their bowlers, the West Indies are in a strong position at stumps on day one of the first test against Bangladesh at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua as they trail by eight runs in their first innings.

The Caribbean side reached 95-2 with captain Kraigg Brathwaite on 42 and Nkrumah Bonner 12. John Campbell 24 and Raymon Reifer 11 are the batsmen dismissed.

Earlier, Alzarri Joseph with career best figures of 3-33 routed the Bangladeshis for just 103 after being sent into bat.

Jayden Seales had identical figures as Joseph, while there were two wickets each for Kemar Roach and Kyle Mayers as the vistors wobbled to lunch at 76-6.

Shakib al Hasan was the only Bangladeshi batsman to offer resistance with 51 as six of the batsmen fell for a duck.
