Windies record their first win at ICC U19 World Cup

Jewel Andrew continue to impress as the West Indies Under-19 team got their first win of the ICC U19 World Cup with a comprehensive 5 wicket win against Scotland in Potchefstroom. 

Andrew hit 64 from 60 balls which was inclusive of 8 boundaries. Andrew shared in a 95 run partnership with Nathan Edwards who ended on 27 not out.           

Earlier, Scotland posted 206-6 from their innings. Scotland got off to a strong start posting 89 runs for the first wicket before the West Indies dismissed both openers Jamie Dunk for 57 and Adi Hegde for 32. They then removed Alec Price for 31.

Isai Thorne was the chief destroyer against the Scotland batting line-up claiming 4-46, Nathan Sealy bagged 2-38, while there was a wicket a piece for Raneico Smith and Nathan Edward.

The Windies dropped Jamaicans Deshawn James and Steven Wedderburn from the playing XI that lost their opening game by 31 runs to South Africa last week.
