Young Reggae Boyz into quarter finals at Mexican tournament

Seymour Reid scored a hattrick in the second half to lead the Under-17 Reggae Boyz to a 3-1 victory over Liga Premier in the Torneo del Sol tournament in Mexico on Wednesday.  

Reid was on target from the penalty spot in the 60th minute and then netted from open play in the 70th and 87th minutes.

The young Reggae Boyz rebounded from the team's 2-0 defeat by Seleccion Norte on Tuesday to advance to the quarter-finals against the Metropolitan team, which is set for 1:30 pm Jamaica time on Thursday.

The Jamaicans ended the preliminary round in fifth on 6 points. Mexico who topped the table on 9 points, and Panama who finished second on 8, are the other CONCACAF nations through.
