Afrobeats hit 'Essence' enters Billboard top 10

Nigerian artistes WizKid and Tems have hit yet another milestone, as their collaborative single Essence has entered the top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100.
 
Essence remix featuring Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, is the first African song to achieve the feat.
 
The hit, which has been dubbed the global song of the summer, last week became the first African song so receive a platinum certification for sales in the United States. 
 
This is WizKid's second Billboard top 10, as his feature on Drake's One Dance spent 10 weeks at number one in 2016. 
 
Essence is featured on Wizkid's album Made in Lagos, which has been streamed more than one billion times across all streaming platforms.
