Reggae luminary Beres Hammond, renowned for his soul-stirring melodies is to receive the esteemed Elite Icon Award at the upcoming Caribbean Music Awards later this month.
Set to unfold in Brooklyn, New York, the inaugural event is scheduled for August 31 and will highlight aspects of Caribbean culture.
It will be hosted by Haitian rapper and actor Wyclef Jean.
Beres Hammond who is no stranger to receiving accolades began his music journey in the 1970s but reached the pinnacle of his career in the 1990s and has cemented his name as a prominent figure within Jamaica's reggae landscape.
He is known for hits like Rock Away, What One Dance Can Do and Step Aside.
