Beyoncé and Young Thug tie with six nominations each; Chloe X Halle, Summer Walker and Usher tie with five each; YG has four; and Brandy and PJ Morton tie with three each.
R&B singer Monica will be honoured with the Lady of Soul Award.
The show will feature performances by Brandy, Monica, Babyface, CeeLo Green, Ella Mai, Charlie Wilson, Smokey Robinson, Jazmine Sullivan and Skip Marley among others.
