Harrison Ford injured in small plane crash

US media reported on Thursday evening that actor Harrison Ford has been injured in a small plane crash in Los Angeles.

He was reportedly piloting a single-engine plane that crashed onto a golf course in Venice, near the Santa Monica Municipal Airport.

Aerial footage showed a plane on the ground and one person being treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital, NBC in Los Angeles reported.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

Ford, 72, was scheduled to reprise the role of Han Solo in the latest addition to the Star Wars franchise, Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
