Kevin Hart hoping to change portrayal of black fathers with new film

Comedian and actor Kevin Hart has expressed his desire to change the way black fathers are portrayed in the media with the release of a new film.

The 41-year-old Hart stars as a single father raising his daughter after the death of his wife in the new film, titled Fatherhood.

In promoting the project, Hart said he wants to change the narrative and shed a positive light on black fathers on the big screen, rather than the drug dealer or incarcerated stereotypes.

Fatherhood, which hits Netflix on June 18, is co-produced by former US President and First Lady, Barack and Michelle Obama.
