Masicka is now a Def Jam artiste

Masicka is now a Def Jam artiste.

His latest single, Pieces, a collaboration with Jashii and a song of triumph was released under the Def Jam Recordings label.

The label confirmed the deal yesterday via their Instagram account.

Def Jam is based in Manhattan, New York. They've previously signed Slew Dem singer, Capleton to their label and are in partnership with Untold Stories artist, Buju Banton.

International act Justin Beiber is also signed to Def Jam.

Meanwhile, the King Inna Earth deejay has been awarded by YouTube for achieving 1 million subscribers on the platform.

Masicka took to Instagram to celebrate the receipt of a plaque in celebration of the achievement.

The post drew commendations from colleagues like Bounty Killer and Dexta Daps as well as fellow supporters.

The lyricist released his debut album, 438 which spent 7 weeks on the Billboard Reggae Albums Chart and peaked at Number 2.

The album was released under his Genahsyde/1Syde Records label and propelled the artiste to even higher heights in Dancehall.
