Jamaica earned 10.9 per cent less money from the manufacturing industry in 2023.
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) has reported that the industry raked in US$856.4 million last year.
The drop was due to a decline in the exports of what are called Other Manufactured Products.
The category earned the country US$484.9 million, a 21 per cent drop, compared to the $614.8 million earned in 2022.
STATIN says this was mainly due to lower exports of Refined Petroleum Products, which fell by 20 point 7 per cent to $436.2 million.
