Minister of Agriculture Floyd Green says the poultry sector is continuing on a growth path with farmers expanding their production to meet local needs and to begin to focus on addressing regional demand.
He says the sector has seen a 22.4 per cent increase per annum over the last 10 years.
Mr Green says that despite losing more than 300,000 birds in Hurricane Beryl, the sector showed a 3.3 per cent growth at the end of 2024.
He adds that despite the effects of the hurricane, there has been less than a five per cent reduction in the egg production sector.
