The Wisynco Group has officially opened a new brewery at its Lakes Pen headquarters, marking a major expansion of its manufacturing operations.
Company Chairman William Mahfood says the new facility will increase Wisynco's manufacturing space from 125,000 to 325,000 square feet.
The state-of-the-art brewery, the first of its kind in Jamaica, features four production lines and is the only local facility capable of producing carbonated soft drinks in cans.
The plant can produce up to 30,000 cans of carbonated beverages per hour, or about 6.5 million cases annually.
Chief Executive Officer Andrew Mahfood, speaking at the official opening of its Brewery and New Manufacturing Facility in St. Catherine on Tuesday, said the new brewery was already driving product innovation, which remains central to the company's strategy.
He explained that Wisynco's portfolio includes both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
Wisynco's manufacturing operations are certified under several ISO international standards.
Mahfood added that market analysis points to strong growth potential for Jamaica's brewing industry, which the company is aiming to tap through the new facility.
