CariCRIS reaffirms VM Investments' investment-grade credit ratings

Regional rating agency CariCRIS has reaffirmed VM Investments' investment-grade credit ratings, maintaining a stable outlook for the company and its subsidiary.

The ratings — CariBBB on the regional scale, jmBBB+ on the Jamaica national scale for foreign currency, and jmA- on the national scale for local currency — confirm VMIL's strong financial standing and prudent management.

CariCRIS says the stable outlook reflects expectations that VM Investments will remain profitable and adequately capitalised in the short to medium term.

The company's focus on product innovation, digital transformation, and strategic acquisitions to grow its private equity portfolio were also highlighted as key strengths.

The agency noted that further upgrades could come if VMIL expands its products and services or improves its net interest spreads, maintaining a return on earning assets of four per cent or more for two consecutive years.

VM Investment's Chief Executive Officer, Rezworth Burchenson, says the reaffirmation underscores confidence in the company's strategic direction and financial stewardship.
