The Economic Programme Oversight Committee [EPOC] is hoping some outstanding matters will be finalised before Finance Minister Dr. Nigel Clarke demits office at the end of October.
At the latest EPOC Press Briefing, Chairman Keith Duncan said, while the committee is proud of Dr. Clarke's historic appointment as Deputy Managing Director at the IMF, there are some local affairs it hopes will to be sorted before he leaves.
He also expressed hope that the Fiscal Commission will be in place by early next year.
When asked what were the expectations of the next Minister of Finance & The Public Service, Mr Duncan said he or she must be able to pick up the mantle when it comes to making the public service more efficient.
Weeks after Dr. Clarke's appointment was made public, the government is yet to indicate who will be appointed in his place.
