Caribbean Airlines, CAL, is facing competition on one of its routes in the region.
The Guyanese government approved a request from EZjet GT Incorporated to service the Georgetown to Toronto route this month.
This was announced by Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon.
CAL is currently the lone carrier plying the route and Dr. Luncheon says the approval introduces an element of competition.
EZJet GT will operate two weekly flights from June 15 to June 14, 2013.
EZjet, is already operating non-scheduled flights between Georgetown and New York.
