Almond Beach Village in Heywoods, St Peter
Word coming out of Barbados is that Jamaican hotel magnate Gordon “Butch” Stewart is eyeing one of the resorts on the island.
A report in the Aripl 3 issue of the Barbados Nation newspaper says Mr. Stewart confirmed that he has an interest in buying the Almond Beach Village in Heywoods, St Peter.
He also said it was not a done deal.
Mr. Stewart’s disclosure comes as top brass of Almond’s Trinidadian-based parent company Neal & Massy meets with anxious shareholders at 10:30 this morning to discuss the future of its three Barbados properties.
A team from Sandals, including engineers and architects, is also due in Barbados today to carry out an evaluation of the debt-burdened property in Heywoods.
