GWest Corporation is reporting a more than threefold increase in net profit for the first quarter of its financial year.
The company recorded net profit of $920,000, an increase of approximately 134 per cent over the previous year, while revenue rose by about five per cent to $78.7 million.
The directors say the improvement was driven mainly by a 54 per cent increase in revenue from surgeries.
However, revenue from general practice and urgent patient care declined by 22 per cent, falling from $8.8 million to $6.9 million.
GWest's total assets declined during the period, falling to $1.55 billion from $1.61 billion a year earlier.
