Highgate residents upset with BNS for plan to close branch

Bank of  Nova Scotia, BNS, is again trying to sooth customers who are upset about the impending closure of  its Highgate branch in St. Mary.

The branch which has been in existence for 42 years will cease operations on September 21.

In a statement, BNS said it will work closely with customers through the period of  transition.

It added that some of  the staff  who served Highgate customers will be transferred to Port Maria while additional resources will be provided to help persons increase their use of  ABM's and bring awareness of  the services that can be done through its contact centre, internet banking and Tele-Scotia.

Customers can transfer their accounts to any branch of  their choice while accounts with no other directive will be automatically transferred to the Port Maria branch.
