Jamaica's imports were 25 per cent higher as at November 2021.
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) says total spending on imports amounted to US$5.4 billion - it was at $4.3 billion during the same period in 2020.
The increased spend was driven by higher imports of "Fuels and Lubricants", "Raw Materials/Intermediate Goods", and "Consumer Goods".
Meanwhile, Jamaica's export earnings during the period rose 20 percent.
STATIN says total exports were valued at US$1.3 billion up from US$1.1 billion in the same period in 2020.
The increase was driven mainly by higher exports of "Mineral Fuels", which rose by 94 per cent.
