Jamaica and Canada have signed an open skies agreement that could see the national carrier expanding services in Canada.
Under the agreement, Caribbean Airlines, which operates Air Jamaica, now has additional flexibility for route selection, flight frequency and price setting on Canadian routes.
Canadian carriers have the same added flexibility on the Jamaican route which will make it easier for Canadians to fly to the country.
The deal extends to Trinidad and Tobago.
The Canadians, in signing the deal, said it is a precursor to a wider Canadian-CARICOM free trade deal.
