Jamaica National Building Society, JNBS, has widened its lead as the largest player in the building society sector.
According to data released by the Bank of Jamaica, JN held 99-point-4 billion dollars in total assets as at December 31.
This placed it way ahead of its competitor the Victoria Mutual Building Society, VMBS, which had an asset base of 61-point-8 billion dollars.
Scotia Jamaica Building Society came in third place with assets totalling 14-point-6 billion dollars followed by First Caribbean International Building Society with 9-point-4 billion dollars.
The four building societies had a combined asset base of 185 billion dollars.
