The JSE Index advanced by 1,179 points on Friday, while the Junior Market Index advanced by 35 points.
There was trading in 114 stocks, of which 54 advanced, 29 declined and 31 traded firm.
Supreme Ventures was the volume leader with 45 per cent of total volume.
