The JSE Index advanced by 1,880 points on Wednesday, while he Junior Market Index declined by 8 points.
Overall Market activity resulted from trading in 112 stocks, of which 48 advanced, 42 declined and 22 traded firm.
Kintyre Holdings was volume leader with 30 per cent of total volume.
