Michael Lee-Chin
The Trinidad Guardian reported today that Jamaican businessman Michael Lee-Chin made a US$4 million payment on a bond issued by Portland Barbados, a company he controls.
The Trinidad Guardian said confirmation came from noteholders yesterday.
The payment, made on Monday, is part of an agreement entered into by Portland Barbados and Republic Bank as trustees of the US$23 million note after Mr Lee-Chin missed the payment due on April 30, 2024.
The noteholders explained that the trustee received the $4 million yesterday.
