New 300-acre coconut farm to be established in St. Thomas by large investor - Agriculture Minister

Agriculture Minister Floyd Green has announced that a 300-acre coconut farm is being established in St. Thomas by an unnamed large investor.

Additionally, the country's largest coconut farm is soon to mechanise the husking of its dry coconuts in efforts to move away from the practice of traditional manual removal.

Minister Green said the land for the new farm was recently acquired from the Sugar Corporation of Jamaica, but he did not provide details about the investor involved in the project.
