Antoinette Hamilton, the new president of the MSME Alliance, says she will be seeking a meeting with President of the Bankers Association Audrey Tugwell Henry.
Mrs Hamilton wants to discuss why commercial banks are taking so long to respond to the central bank's reduction of the benchmark rate by 50 basis points to 6.50% per annum.
She also stressed that she would be seeking a meeting with the Development Bank of Jamaica [DBJ] to find out why so many conditionalities are attached to its loans.
DBJ lending rates tend to be low relative to those of the commercial banks.
